Bailey's Outdoor Journal
This Outdoor Journal's goal is to provide insights and information related to conservation and environmentally conscious recreation with a particular focus on the "DMV" and Mid-Atlantic in general. While major disasters, "high adventure" and "extreme sports" often drive media coverage of outdoor activity, there is a far more accessible drama happening all around us, even in our suburban parks and gardens. Here we hope to highlight those wonders and opportunities, to engage with the stories that unfold closer to us perhaps, say, than on the top of a Himalayan mountain or in the tidal pools of an Indonesian shore. Those stories are well worth noticing and recording. We hope to do them justice. The site is updated regularly so make sure to check back for more deets on the local outdoor scene, links to interesting and educational sites and more.
